"Hadassah Beit Shemesh is making history,” said Beit Shemesh Mayor Shmuel Greenberg. “The opening of the innovative operating room system in the city is huge news for the residents of Beit Shemesh and the surrounding area. I am convinced that this is only the beginning, and in the future we will continue to see Hadassah expand its activities here in the city.”
Speaking to attendees at the October dedication ceremony, Hadassah National President Carol Ann Schwartz spoke proudly of Hadassah’s commitment to this long-term partnership and presented Israel Minister of Health Uriel Menachem Buso with the Henrietta Szold medal.
"This is another important step in the excellent service that Hadassah provides to the residents of the city of Beit Shemesh,” said Dalia Itzik, chair of the Hadassah Medical Organization board of directors.
Opened in 2023, Hadassah Beit Shemesh can now provide Beth Shemesh residents with state-of-the-art surgical treatments and procedures, including services in gastroenterology, ophthalmology, plastic surgery and gynecology. Before then, the city’s 150,000 plus residents did not have local hospital services.
"Hadassah’s experts provide excellent medicine close to where the city's patients live,” said Prof. Yoram Weiss, director general of the Hadassah Medical Organization. “There is no need to go far for advanced and professional treatment."
