Hadassah Announces New Executive Committee Members

March 30, 2021: New York, NY – Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc. (HWZOA), announces that Shelley Kaplan and Michelle Hubertus have begun their terms as National Vice President and National Treasurer, respectively, on the Executive Committee of Hadassah’s National Board, the organization’s governing body.

Kaplan is a 32-year Hadassah volunteer leader from Ocean, NJ, who has sat on the Board since 2006 and was National Treasurer from 2018 to 2020. She is also a board member of Hadassah Medical Organization (HMO) and a former board member of Hadassah International. Kaplan serves on Hadassah’s Oversight and Compliance and National Finance committees, chaired Hadassah’s National Speakers Bureau and Major Gifts Committee, vice-chaired the National Major Gifts Committee and was Region President of Hadassah Southern New Jersey. Kaplan and her husband, Sheldon, are members of the Society of Major Donors and Keepers of the Gate.  She succeeds Merna Shapiro.

Hubertus is a 23-year Hadassah volunteer leader from Short Hills, NJ, who has sat on the Board since 2018 and is also a director of Hadassah International. She has served on a variety of Board subcommittees, as Membership Coordinator for Hadassah’s Northern New Jersey Region and as President of Hadassah’s Millburn Short Hills chapter. She and her husband, James, are Hadassah Founders and Keepers of the Gate. A former Hadassah Leadership Fellow, Hubertus succeeds Kaplan in this position.

Bonder, Tracey Drayer, Lisa Davidson, Linda Goldstein, Dianne Gottlieb, Haren Haber, Roz Kantor, Viviane Kovacs, Rebecca Krasnegor, Valerie Lowenstein, Dr. Stacey Maslow, Michele Rubin, Kacy Spivack, Anastasia Torres-Gil, Laurie Werner, Elaine Winograd and Deborah Wiskind.
