March 26, 2019 - NEW YORK, NY – Judy Ron has been named Managing Director, Hadassah Mid-Atlantic Consolidated Area, according to Janice Weinman, Executive Director and CEO of Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc. (HWZOA).
Ron will be responsible for the operations and management of Hadassah Mid-Atlantic Consolidated Area (Greater Baltimore, Greater Philadelphia, Greater Washington and Southern New Jersey Regions), which is comprised of over 33,000 Hadassah members. Ron will also provide guidance and strategic support to the staff and region volunteer leaders and work in conjunction with the Mid-Atlantic Region Presidents to carry out and achieve their goals for the four regions, building upon Hadassah’s national organizational priorities and mission.
Weinman states, “Judy Ron brings a wealth of experience, expertise and a passion for HWZOA’s mission to Hadassah’s Mid-Atlantic Consolidated Area. She will work with leadership and membership in four outstanding regions – Washington, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Southern New Jersey Regions – to further HWZOA’s mission of women’s empowerment, Zionism and providing world-class medical care to the people of Israel.
Ron enthuses, “Hadassah is in my blood, in my DNA and I am thrilled to now play a leadership role in galvanizing the Hadassah sisterhood. Holding dual citizenship in both Israel and the U.S, I have had the privilege of witnessing first-hand the important role which HWZOA and the Hadassah Medical Organization (HMO) play for all the residents of Israel. Hadassah’s two world-class research hospitals in Jerusalem offer medicine as a ‘bridge to peace’ for Jews, Arabs and Christians alike. I look forward to working with the leadership in each of these regions to engage, inspire and motivate our membership.”
Ron joined Hadassah in 2005 as the Executive Director of Hadassah Greater Philadelphia. For the past two years, she served as Director of Community Outreach and Engagement for the Mid-Atlantic Consolidated Area. She has a M.A. in Public Policy from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Rochester.
While living in Israel for five years, Ron worked in the Jerusalem Bureau of the Washington Post, met her husband, Yigal, and gave birth at Hadassah Hospital on Mt. Scopus. She and Yigal live in Center City Philadelphia and have two grown daughters, Ilana and Talia, and a new grandson, Caleb.
