Hadassah Elects Three Officers

Board members Dale Marcus, Dana Waxler and Deborah Wiskind will join Hadassah’s Executive Committee

NEW YORK, NY—Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, is pleased to announce that members Dale Marcus of Englewood, CO; Dana Waxler of Lookout Mountain, GA; and Deborah Wiskind of Ardsley, NY, have been elected to the Executive Committee of the National Board, with the title of National Vice President. The three new officers, who will succeed Peg Elefant, Valerie Lowenstein and Jill Sapperstein, will begin their three-year term on January 1, 2025.

Dale Marcus, PhD, is a member of Hadassah’s Greater Denver chapter and sits on its board and on the advisory council of the Desert Mountain Region. She is Hadassah’s chair of Planned Giving and Estates, a member of the National Board’s strategic planning and ethics committees and a former member of the governance and business plan committees. Among the many other positions Marcus has held are president of the Great Plains Region, co-chair of the Society of Major Donors and secretary of The Hadassah Foundation board. Marcus has been honored with Hadassah’s Health Award, for her program “Healthy Women Healthy Lives,” and its Hannah Goldberg Award, for her innovative study groups. The third generation of a five-generation family of Hadassah life members, Marcus is a retired clinical psychologist who specialized in transgender health.

A member of Hadassah’s Chattanooga, TN, chapter and a past president of Hadassah’s Southern Region, Dana Waxler is the national co-chair of Annual Giving; chair of the National Associates, a group of more than 33,000 men who support Hadassah’s mission; and a 10-year member of Hadassah’s annual giving team. A fundraising and recruitment expert who lends her expertise to Hadassah’s Philanthropy and Engagement divisions, Waxler is also a member of the Circle of Founders and Keepers of the Gate donor societies and a past chair of the latter. Waxler was a practicing architect for 40 years and is a past president of the Chattanooga chapter of The American Institute of Architects. She is the latest of a four-generation family of Hadassah life members and her husband, Richard, is a Hadassah Associate.

Hadassah Westchester member Deborah Wiskind is a former president of Hadassah’s Westchester Region, which she served as its vice president and representative to the former National Young Leaders Advisory Council and Metropolitan Young Women’s Institute. She is chair of Leadership Training and Development for Hadassah and a past resource chair for Hadassah Metro, which covers eight Hadassah regions comprising more than 100 chapters in the New York, Connecticut and the Northern New Jersey tri-state area. The winner of Hadassah’s National Leadership and Judith Epstein Memorial awards, Wiskind is an artist, a graphic designer and the owner of DeeJ Design, a distributor of promotional products. She is the fourth of a five-generation Hadassah family and her husband, Michael, is a Hadassah Associate.

In addition to the three new officers, 15 Hadassah members were elected to the National Board and will begin their terms on January 1, 2025. They are Nancy Bechek Bluth, Leslie Deman, Peg Elefant, Francine Ephraim, Sheila Glass, Michelle Goldberg, Jill B. Goldstone, Roz Kantor, Shelley Kaplan, Debbie Knight, Geri Lipschitz, Judith Mann, Bobbi Prager, Tami Rudnick Rubin and Jill Sapperstein.
