NEW YORK, NY – In response to the October 10, 2024, report released by the UN Commission of Inquiry (COI), Carol Ann Schwartz, National President, Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, made the following statement:

“The Commission of Inquiry’s (COI) latest report is more of the same one-sided, biased misinformation that distorts the truth to justify and excuse terrorism. The new COI report accuses Israel of attacking Palestinians’ health infrastructure but fails to mention that Hamas deliberately stores weapons inside healthcare facilities in order to use Palestinian civilians as human shields. Like its predecessors, the report fails to label Hamas’ weaponization of sexual violence on October 7 what it is: a crime against humanity. Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, continues to call for the elimination of the biased COI, whose leaders repeatedly traffic in antisemitic tropes. We also call on the UN to stop emboldening terrorism and to condemn Hamas and hold it accountable for its crimes against humanity, including its weaponization of sexual violence.”
