NEW YORK, NY—Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, is proud to announce that, for the second time in a row, it has earned Candid's Gold Seal of Transparency. The designation marks Hadassah as one of the country’s leading nonprofit organizations in terms of transparency, accountability and inclusion. Candid, the world’s largest source of information on nonprofit organizations, has awarded the Gold Seal to less than five percent of the 1.8 million nonprofits listed on its website.

Candid, which was formed when GuideStar and the Foundation Center merged in 2019, reserves the Gold Seal designation for organizations willing to share detailed data about their financial health, demographics, programs and mission.

Hadassah is a 112-year-old charitable organization and the largest Jewish women’s organization in the country, with almost 300,000 members, donors and supporters. It is also the founder and owner of the nonprofit Hadassah Medical Organization, a major Israeli hospital system comprising two teaching hospitals and many other facilities.

“We are delighted by the rating,” said Carol Ann Schwartz, Hadassah National President. “It assures donors that Hadassah is a trustworthy steward of their contributions and that every gift goes toward realizing our mission – to empower women, fight antisemitism and advocate for a continued strong US-Israel relationship, and to provide the best medical care possible, through the Hadassah Medical Organization, our nonprofit hospital system in Jerusalem.”

She continued, “In addition, Candid’s Gold Seal rating tells our stakeholders that Hadassah is committed to maintaining an equitable and diverse work environment in which every employee feels valued and respected.”
