Welcome to Hadassah Connecticut, a collaborative community of 12 engaged and engaging chapters, serving generations of members throughout the state and in the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts. Our members include those who have participated in activities for many years as well as those who have newly discovered the strength of our mission. Together, and with the power of purpose, we embrace our past while leading the way into the future.
Our Connecticut and Massachusetts chapters, branching out from Hadassah’s origins in New York City over a hundred years ago, have always been an integral part of our greater legacy, instrumental in growing the largest Jewish women’s organization in the US. Our mission to provide healing, education, and advocacy goes far beyond our local efforts, as the medical innovations and groundbreaking research developed at Hadassah’s hospitals in Israel are a beacon of hope for healing throughout the world. Ties to Israel are strengthened and reinforced through our programs, fundraising initiatives, workshops and travel opportunities.
Every member in our region has the opportunity to participate actively in the planning and implementation of our activities. Individuals are welcome to join chapter events throughout Connecticut and the Berkshire Hills, enjoy and learn more about Hadassah’s important work through our programs, and meet equally committed women and male Associates who share the passion that allows us to thrive. Chapters often work collaboratively, broadening networks of volunteers and friends. We take great pride in what we do and also find great pleasure in each other’s company.
We hope you will join us, either as a new member or as someone returning to Hadassah, and contribute to our collective strength. Our many upcoming events are included in our monthly email calendar. Among the advantages of your membership is a subscription to the award-winning Hadassah Magazine. Chapter affiliation brings additional possibilities for connection and engagement.
All that we have accomplished -- and all that we hope to do in order to heal the world together -- is exemplified by the words that drive our mission: “The Power of Women Who Do.” As a source of inspiration, joy and pride, these words deeply motivate the members of Hadassah Connecticut. Join us.
May we go from strength to strength, together,
Sharon Rebecca Sobel
