Patricia Levinson, of St. Petersburg, Fla., is chair of Hadassah International communications. Patricia has served on the National Board of Directors/Portfolio Council and National Assembly of HWZOA for 34 years, and she is a member of the Hadassah International Board of Directors.
Patricia was born in South Africa. A biochemist, she moved to Israel in 1966 with her husband, Lionel, working at the Weizmann Institute of Science. When the family emigrated to the US in the early 1970s, they settled in Schenectady, N.Y. and Patricia immediately became involved with Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America Inc. (HWZOA), moving through the ranks with many leadership responsibilities.
She served as Schenectady Chapter president, president of the Upper New York State Region and coordinator for Hadassah Northeast. She started the National Women’s Health Education Department, developed the National SOS on Stem Cells program, served as international health chair and went on to work with Hadassah International communications starting in 2002. She also served as coordinator of the HWZOA MarCom Division for four years.
