Dr. Ruth Ann Freedman of Highland Park, Ill. is chair of institutional giving in the Philanthropy Division and an elected member of the National Board. Ruth Ann and her husband, Dan Wander, are the Midwest co-chairs for the Full Circle Campaign.

Most recently, she completed a three-year term as vice coordinator of the Philanthropy Division, where among her many initiatives and successes, she partnered with the Deputy Chief Development Office to design, implement and iterate the Philanthropy Data Initiative.

As chair of the of the 2021 Measurement for Success Strategic Planning Team, Ruth led the team that helped design the initial Data Analysis & Impact Center evaluation process. She previously served as a member of the Strategic Implementation Team, as a member of the Strategic Planning Core-Team, as an elected member of the National Board and as national vice president.  She also led the Strategic Planning Young Women’s Sub-Committee. In addition, she was a member of the Ethics Committee.

Previously, she was the Midwest Area Region resource chair. In her tenure as Hadassah Chicago region president, she completed the merger of Hadassah Chicago Chapter and Hadassah North-Shore after forty years of separation. As an active member of Hadassah Chicago Chapter since 1990, she served as Hadassah Medical Organization vice president, leadership, education and training vice president, education vice president, area vice president, HLA liaison, group liaison and Hadassah Great Plains Region Youth Commission member, as well as on many local committees.
