After 200 days of fighting, Israeli reserve soldier Omer Hinden felt fortunate to be by his wife’s side at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem as she gave birth to their third child, a son, born on the nine-month anniversary of October 7.
His wife, Esther, a Jerusalem-based lawyer, spent most of her pregnancy alone and worried for her husband’s safety.
"I didn't believe that the war would continue until I gave birth, but as the months passed, I got used to the idea that Omer probably wouldn't make it to the birth," Esther told Israel Hayom. "Luckily, with him by my side and thanks to the amazing staff at Hadassah Ein Kerem, I had a good experience after a difficult period."
