First Israeli Tapped for Prestigious European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society’s Exec Committee

A significant addition to the Hadassah Medical Organization’s extensive list of “firsts,” Prof. Simona Glasberg has been elected as the newest — and first Israeli — member of the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society’s (ENETS) executive committee. ENETS is a global leader in neuroendocrine neoplasm (NEN) research, collaboration and education.

With Prof. Glasberg as head, the Neuroendocrine Tumor Unit at the Hadassah Medical Organization became the only ENETS Center of Excellence in the Middle East.

"I am extremely honored and humbled by this significant achievement,” said Prof. Glasberg. “This recognition reflects the high international standards of care for Israeli patients with NENs and positions our center at Hadassah at the forefront of the field."

An expert in endocrinology and internal medicine, Prof. Glasberg’s contributions to NEN diagnosis and management in Israel earned her the 2017 Lindner Prize of the IES for her scientific achievements. She had completed a translational fellowship in NENs and Endocrine Oncology at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital & William Harvey Research Institute in London.

"This opportunity opens new avenues for collaboration with international colleagues to enhance knowledge and improve patient treatment and quality of life," she added.
