Hadassah Condemns Terror Attacks and Calls on US Leaders to Support Israel and Fight Alarming Surge in Global Antisemitism
NEW YORK, NY— Hadassah National President Rhoda Smolow and CEO Naomi Adler issued this statement after a briefing by doctors at the Hadassah Medical Organization, the not-for-profit medical center in Jerusalem owned by Hadassah:
"As a Level 1 trauma center with an expertise in complex, traumatic injuries, the Hadassah Medical Organization continues to treat soldiers and civilians who have been critically injured during the horrific attacks by Hamas terrorists. We are shocked and heartbroken by the unprecedented barbarism and the resulting scope and nature of the injuries. Our hearts are with the families and communities of the more than 1,200 Israelis who have been killed – civilians and soldiers, Jews, Muslims and victims of other faiths – and the hundreds of others who have suffered life-changing injuries.
"There is no justification for terrorism. We are heartened that leaders across America and around the world join us in unequivocally condemning the horrific terrorist attacks by Hamas, standing with Israel, supporting Israel's right to defend itself and mobilizing to provide aid to Israel."
“Now, more than ever, we call on our leaders to continue to fight the alarming surge in antisemitism in the United States and across the globe.
"We are grateful for the outstanding leaders and the doctors, nurses and other staff members at the Hadassah Medical Organization. They have banded together despite the personal losses many have experienced, determined to do their utmost for the wounded and traumatized. We are equally grateful to Hadassah’s legions of supporters, who make this life-saving work possible."
