Hadassah COVID-19 Mission Welcomed at Argentina’s Pink House

The Hadassah Medical Organization delegation that arrived in Argentina on May 10 to share its experience in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic and to discuss Argentina’s participation in a clinical trial with Brilife, the Israeli-developed vaccine, metwith health care and other high-level government officials at Casa Rosada (Argentina’s “Pink House”), the country’s version of the US White House. This visit marks the first time a medical delegation has been received at the Casa Rosada for such a meeting.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the goals of the mission, including the implementation of the clinical trial and the production of Brilife, as well as Hadassah’s protocols for treating COVID-19. Prof. Yoram Weiss, director of Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem, noted that the Hadassah delegation “did not come to teach, but to share experiences.” He emphasized that the mission’s aim was to help Argentina out of its COVID-19 crisis. “Israel was in this situation just a few months ago, and now we can see the light at the end of the tunnel,” he said.

Minister of Health Carla Vizzotti commented that the mission is not just important to Argentina’s health professionals. “What is especially important,” she said, "is how Hadassah has communicated hope to the people of Argentina by coming to our country."
