Faced with feelings of uncertainty and helplessness, how do we cope during this very unsettling time? Dr. Shiri Ben-Naim, Hadassah hospitals’ Head of Rehabilitation Psychology, offers strategies and behavioral adaptations that can help us “respond normally to today’s abnormal reality.”

She shared advice for parents of young children or teens, those with family members who are medical practitioners on the front line, and those dealing with sudden death of loved ones death of loved ones, as well as other practical recommendations. This conference call was attended by over 350 Hadassah members and supporters.
Dr. Ben-Naim's primary research is on psychological and marital aspects of disabilities and the role of hope, intimacy and coping in dealing with acquired and developmental disabilities, as well as medically unexplained symptoms and interventions before and after brain surgeries.
Dr. Ben-Naim's last appearance on the Hadassah Doctor Call Series was in the aftermath of the attack on the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh. Listen now as she offers insights that can greatly benefit us in our own times of crisis.
