Turns out that not all non-treatable health conditions are immune to a remedy.
This is certainly the case at the Allergy and Clinical Immunology Unit at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem, under the direction of Dr. Yuval Tal.
As guest on the newest episode of the Hadassah On Call podcast, Dr. Tal shares how his team treated a patient with a rare, non-treatable bladder condition with an off-label treatment designed for asthma. Within three weeks, the condition started to clear, and after a few months, his cystoscopy came back normal.
Dr. Tal also discusses biological treatment, or precise medicine, as the future of advancing treatments in clinical immunology, giving the example of his nearly 100 percent successful study of patients with oncologic-related pruritus, devastatingly itchy skin, being completely cured after three shots of a significant acid that blocks specific proteins in the immune system.
Tune in to also hear about an internasal dry powder adrenaline that can potentially replace the EpiPen, the connection between PTSD and allergies and the unique immunological mechanism in black Americans that makes them more susceptible to certain diseases, including COVID-19.
