Without federal protections in place, states can now fully take away access to reproductive choice. Hadassah is working at the local, state and federal levels to protect women’s access to reproductive care, engaging in efforts to support legislation and ballot initiatives that protect choice and fight measures that would restrict it.
Right now in Kentucky, a measure on the November ballot seeks to amend state law to take away protections for reproductive rights. Hadassah members in Kentucky are working to defeat this ballot measure. One important way you can help is to join the Jewish Community Phone Bank to Protect Abortion in Kentucky on Wednesday, September 14 from 4:45-7 pm EST.
Hadassah, in partnership with Jewish Alliance for Law and Social Action, National Council of Jewish Women and others, will be calling Kentucky voters about getting to the polls in November to protect reproductive choice. A Jewish community gathering will take place at 4:45 pm by Zoom and the phone bank with Protect Kentucky Access will begin at 5 pm. This phone bank is part of the community-wide Jews for Abortion Access Week of Action.

In a win for reproductive rights on August 2, Hadassah members in Kansas mobilized against a ballot initiative to eliminate state protections for choice. Kansas voters resoundingly rejected the anti-choice measure. Let’s work to do the same in Kentucky.
