Prof. Yoram Weiss, director general of the Hadassah Medical Organization, and Suzanne Patt Benvenisti, executive director of the Hadassah Offices in Israel, are giving Hadassah supporters a sneak peek into the future sites of lifesaving activity at Hadassah hospitals.
The phased opening of the Gandel Rehabilitation Center at Hadassah Hospital Mount Scopus continues in order to meet the growing need for physical and psychological rehabilitation.
A bare floor of the iconic Round Building at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem, just concrete ground, columns and beams at the moment, will be home to the hospital’s new intensive care unit, doubling the unit’s capacity but offering the same state-of-the-art sophisticated care as always.
The Round Building’s sixth floor is under construction now to become another internal medicine unit, a welcoming and compassionate environment for up to 140 inpatients at any time. A technological incubator, hotel and rooftop garden are also in the plans for the Round Building.
Prof. Weiss talks of the possibility of developing six additional underground operating rooms at the Sarah Wetsman Davidson Hospital Tower at Hadassah Ein Kerem so that Hadassah’s lifesaving work can continue securely, even under missile attack.
