The Hadassah Medical Organization’s (HMO) Emergency Center for Trauma Victims has been established, currently operating four hours a day and staffed by HMO psychologists and psychiatrists.
The Center specializes in anxiety and post-trauma treatment and is serving anyone in need: HMO staff as well as the public, including families from the Gaza parameter. Specific referrals are not needed to receive treatment.
The Center has already engaged communities near Gaza with interventions with families that have been transferred to Kibbutz Almog. They hosted a webinar last night for families from the Gaza parameter, which was capped at 300 participants, and another Zoom meeting is planned for tonight.
They are partnering with the Goshen organization, and they are mostly able to address the emergency needs themselves as they have had availability due to clinic cancellations.
An Arabic-language webinar for caregivers from the Arab population is also planned to take place in the coming days.
In addition, an emergency hotline for support, initial screenings and emergency interventions is available from 9 am to 7 pm.
We are working with the head of the Center to understand their funding needs and will provide updates on a regular basis.
