Marissa Bishop, a Young Judaean who was just recognized as one of Hadassah’s 2023 Leaders of Tomorrow, was featured in an article in Houston’s Jewish Herald-Voice on May 11, 2023.
Marissa, along with Claire Eisenstadt of Northbrook, Ill., and Mia Finestone of San Rafael, Calif., received a $1,000 scholarship toward tuition for Young Judaea’s Gesher (Hebrew for “bridge”) summer leadership program in Israel. “I am absolutely thrilled and extremely grateful to be receiving this year’s Leaders of Tomorrow Award,” said Marissa.
Involved in Young Judaea since early childhood, Marissa commented, “Something that is so special about Young Judaea is that it creates a super strong community of Jewish teens, and this community allows you to find Judaism within yourself, alongside others: finding a Jewish family.”
The Gesher program offers teens a chance to learn about Israel’s culture and history while also teaching them leadership skills that will help them make a difference in their communities.
