Iraqi Yazidis Learn Medical Clowning at Hadassah Hospital

A group of Yazidis from Iraq traveled to Israel this summer to take a course in medical clowning at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem, with the goal of learning a skill to help traumatized children in their war-ravaged country.

The group of five students participated in a week-long intensive training with master teacher and veteran Medical Clown David “Dush” Barashi and his team. “The participants left Israel with new tools and techniques that will help them put smiles on the faces of people who live in war zones, regardless of their ethnicity, religion or gender,” noted a spokesperson for the Israeli Foreign Ministry, which supported the course.
