Thanks to generous donors and $1 million raised by the Hadassah Nurses and Allied Health Professionals Council, the Henrietta Szold Hadassah-Hebrew University School of Nursing opened its new New Learning Center, including the Jean Goldwurm Auditorium, on June 27.
The Center, designed for interactive learning, seats over 170 students and includes a large classroom for active learning and a new foyer -- all designed to ensure wheelchair accessibility.
"The new learning center will ... give more nurses the best education possible -- improving their skills and strengthening them to face all the stresses and challenges posed by their demanding jobs," said Rely Alon, PhD, director of the Hadassah Medical Organization’s Division of Nursing and Health Professions.
Hadassah National President Rhoda Smolow, Prof. Yoram Weiss, MD, director general of the Hadassah Medical Organization (HMO), and Rely Alon cut the red ribbon, officially opening the Center. They were joined for the hanging of the mezuzah celebration by Prof. Dina Ben-Yehuda, head of HMO's Department of Hematology, and the dean of the Hadassah-Hebrew University Faculty of Medicine, Nurit Zusman, head of Nursing, Hadassah Hospital, Mount Scopus, and of course, all the other special people who supported and contributed to the Center.
