Nehoray, a Jerusalem teenager, wanted a high school that gave him more freedom to explore his outside interests and hobbies. After looking at a number of schools, he decided that Hadassah Neurim, the Youth Aliyah school near Netanya jointly supported by Hadassah and the Jewish Agency, was just right for him.
“The staff and teachers here couldn’t be better. When I was having a hard time with math, the school arranged for me to receive after-school private lessons and moved me to a smaller class with a different teacher which I understand a lot better. Now, I’ve never felt more comfortable with the subject!” recounted Nehoray. “The instructors are really there to help me with any problem I have, and we are also offered amazing opportunities and activities after school.”
An animal lover, Nehoray particularly enjoys working at the village’s Dog Rehabilitation Center, where Neurim students learn to train dogs with behavioral problems so they can be adopted by families. As they care for the dogs, the kids themselves gain confidence and learn coping skills that will serve them well as adults.
