Dr. Amit Shalev, head of the Herman Dana Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Hadassah Medical Organization, spoke with the Tel Aviv-based news network ILTV about his recent research study showing a direct link between lack of sleep and suicidal thoughts in youth. This research will encourage practitioners to elevate sleep as a risk factor in suicide, the second leading cause of death in children and adolescents, says Dr. Shalev.
