Despite its 152,000 residents and its status as Israel’s fastest-growing city, Beit Shemesh has not had any local hospital services for its residents until the opening on June 14 of a Hadassah Medical Organization facility there, providing residents with convenient access to Hadassah’s state-of-the-art medical services.
For Beit Shemesh Mayor Aliza Bloch, it was a longed-for dream come true. She thought she was hallucinating when the idea was proposed by Hadassah for this “dreamed-for addition to her city.” The mayor was present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, along with Hadassah National President Rhoda Smolow, HMO Director General Prof. Yoram Weiss and other dignitaries.
Prof. Weiss emphasized that Hadassah’s outreach is to the entire community. “The creation of Hadassah Beit Shemesh is part of our vision to provide our professional and high-quality medical services where people live. We want to enable residents of Beit Shemesh and the surrounding area to easily benefit from Hadassah diagnosis and treatment.”
Located in a popular mall, the facility boasts consulting and treatment rooms, a day-surgery center and nursing services. Soon, clinics for medical specialties will open, along with two operating rooms.
