Today, Noia is an 11-year-old girl who loves to dance. She was, however, born with a life-threatening heart condition, a narrowing of her aorta, the heart’s major artery.
Noia’s parents, who had immigrated to Israel a few years before they conceived Noia, were, of course, frightened and overwhelmed by the news that their newborn was so ill. “What was really helpful was that Dr. Sagi was so reassuring, always telling us that everything would be okay,” relates Noia’s father, Moran. He is referring to Dr. Sagi Gavri, head of Pediatric Cardiology at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem. Together with his Hadassah colleagues, Dr. Gavri saved Noia’s life.
