Wala Khatib was willing to do whatever it took to have a baby, despite having kidney and heart diseases.
Wala beat the odds of possibly never being able to get pregnant while on dialysis and, with the support of a Hadassah village behind her, made it through an extremely high-risk pregnancy — but not without complications.
A patient in the Obstetrics and Gynecology ward at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem for three months, Wala’s team of doctors, including a nephrologist, cardiologist and gynecologist, guided her through dangerous obstacles, including when she went into cardiac arrest.
In the end, mom and baby are happy and healthy.
To her doctors, Wala said, “Thanks to you all. Really. Now it is all good.”
