In Hadassah's war against the #1 killer of women — heart disease — we have a weapon that saves lives: You. And you're not alone.
Our members are educating and empowering women to become powerful weapons in the war against heart disease, community by community, woman by woman.
The signs of a heart attack are different for women than men, and are often harder to identify, keeping too many women from seeking help. Hadassah life member Rhonna Malin, a heart attack survivor, did — and now she's helping Hadassah make sure other women can, too.
"Symptoms of a heart attack include pressure, squeezing and pain in center of chest. Also, discomfort in one or both arms, neck and jaw," she told the 100+ women and men who came together in Westlake Village, CA, on February 9 for a K’helah Shel Nashim Hadassah event, raising $9,000.
"My advice to any woman is to never ignore these symptoms and always get them checked out," she said. This month — and all year long — Hadassah health and wellness events like this one are teaching women and men in hundreds of communities around the country how to recognize the signs, so they can act immediately to save a life — sometimes even their own.
Your support helps us educate communities in the US and supports innovative research at Hadassah's hospitals in Israel. Help more women live longer, healthier lives. Act now.
Each of us has the power to heal our world, to save lives, to give hope. Thank you.
