Two Women, Two Centuries, One Purpose

Carol Goodman Kaufman’s column “Two Women, Two Centuries, One Purpose” for Thrive Global, reflects on the lives of Henrietta Szold (1860-1945) and Dona Gracia Nasi (1510-1569), two women, three centuries apart who had a single-minded purpose: to help others. Carol is currently Hadassah’s National Co-Chair, Youth Aliyah, an accomplished food writer and the author of “Sins of Commission: The Jewish Community’s Reaction to Domestic Violence.”

In her column, Carol reflects on how each woman took on enormous challenges, remained true to their purpose and had astounding accomplishments, against all odds. This column is part of Hadassah’s ongoing series of articles in Thrive Global, the media platform founded by Arianna Huffington.
