In the latest At War: Heal Israel Now briefing, Hadassah Medical Organization (HMO) experts discuss the power of the rehabilitation care program. In this third installment of our special briefings, we hear from Hadassah leaders and physicians, grateful patients, HMO Board Chair Dalia Itzik and Israel's Economy Minister Nir Barkat. Hadassah has been working around the clock to support Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem and Hadassah Hospital Mount Scopus, which together have treated more than 200 wounded soldiers and civilians.
Specifically, Dr. Shir Ben-Yehuda Shabat, a senior resident in rehabilitation at Hadassah, talks about the rehabilitation department at Hadassah Mt. Scopus. She explains the department as a "place where the body meets the soul." She also shares her personal story about the Israel-Hamas war and her husband, who serves on the Gaza border.
We'll also meet a patient who went through the rehabilitation program and learn how 30 Hadassah dentists are taking part in a national program to help identify victims who were burned to death on October 7 by their teeth. Finally, Hadassah's leadership will discuss their aim to open a clinic in Netivot in southern Israel.
