We are reaching out with exciting news. Earlier today, the US Senate joined the US House in approving the Never Again Education Act. We can officially say that this bill is headed to the White House.

This is a major victory. Your support for the Never Again Education Act is helping to change the course of history.

America is closer than ever to ensuring we will never forget the tragedy of the Holocaust, that students will learn its universal lessons of tolerance, and that educators will be better prepared to teach this absolutely critical subject matter accurately and confidently. Hadassah's National President Rhoda Smolow and CEO/Executive Director Janice Weinman sent a letter to senators about the imperative to pass the Never Again Education Act and urging them to make a significant and lasting impact against the rising tide of hatred in the United States.
Hadassah's National President Rhoda Smolow and CEO/Executive Director Janice Weinman released a joint statement after seven new co-sponsors signed onto the Never Again Education Act (S. 2085) so far this month, bringing the total number of co-sponsors joining lead sponsor Senator Jacky Rosen to 54.

Hadassah's CEO/Executive Director Janice Weinman and National President Rhoda Smolow released a joint statement following the successful vote to pass the Never Again Education Act (H.R. 943). Weinman joined Representative Carolyn Maloney in a press conference earlier that day on Capitol Hill.


Hadassah hosted a special event on Capitol Hill to educate and advocate in favor of the Never Again Education Act and was honored to host Senator Jacky Rosen of Nevada, lead sponsor of the Senate bill, and Representative Salud Carbajal of California. Representatives of more than two dozen Senate offices, Hadassah volunteers and the media heard from a panel of speakers about the value of teaching the Holocaust in schools today.

Hadassah, The Women's Zionist Organization of America, Inc. (HWZOA), announced today that the Never Again Education Act (H.R. 943), which now has 280 cosponsors, now includes Nevada and Connecticut in the list of states whose representatives in the House unanimously support this important and urgent legislation.

In a statement released by National President Ellen Hershkin and CEO/Executive Director Janice Weinman: "We are thrilled that the Never Again Education Act is moving forward with bipartisan support in the Senate. Hadassah members have been aggressively advocating for its passage and today we are closer than ever to making comprehensive Holocaust education available to every school in America."

Hadassah helped secure support for the bill from over 300 organizations, and sent a letter to the chairman and ranking member of the House Committee on Education and Labor.


Hadassah, the lead NGO working on the Never Again Education Act, was responsible for sending thousands of letters supporting this bill and securing many of the House supporters of this legislation.


On February 4, 2019, the Never Again Education Act was reintroduced at an official press conference in New York City. Hadassah CEO/ Executive Director Janice Weinman gave remarks expressing Hadassah's unwavering commitment to ensure the passage of this vital legislation.


Hadassah joined Representative Carolyn Maloney at a Manhattan, NY Holocaust education center to announce the introduction of the Never Again Education Act, during the Week of Remembrance. This national legislation will give teachers across the United States the tools and training they need to teach middle and high school students lessons of the Holocaust and the consequences of intolerance and hate.
